The BlackBerry KEY2 is a workable option for those looking for a physical keyboard along a smartphone.

Instead, I'll give you my very intelligent take on the pre-installed features ilk BBM and the Hub: I turned it entirely off. The real question I had was this: Does the KEY2 hold up as just another Humanoid call up? And on top of that, does the physical keyboard have its identify in the new world of on-screen options? Unexpectedly, the answer to some of those questions is a resonant Yes!

Over the past couple of years I've switched my daily driver more than a 12 times as I test out the cameras on the newest smartphone releases. Because of this I've become pretty picky when it comes to what I neediness in a phone. As a result, I didn't expect often from the KEY2. But it was refreshing to pick up that using it all the time for almost a month didn't have me pull out my hair's-breadth.

The screen is smaller than I like, but IT's still big enough to game on!

Specs-wise, the mid-range Snapdragon 660 CPU and 6GB of RAM maintained with me—and consider me, I tend to campaign my phones harder than most former people I know. In a typical solar day's check ride home from work I'm listening to podcasts through Bluetooth headphones, getting in a quick gaming seance (The Battle of Polytopia is awesome!), pulling in photos from my Fujifilm XT10 to post to elite group media, and keeping up with all the tech news along Feedly. Apart from the limitations of the blind–more on that in a minute–the KEY2 did not battle to adapt to my lifestyle.

As for battery life, the 3500mAh power pack handled itself like a champ, sometimes sitting conscionable below 50 percent when I went to plug it in before hit the sack. One of my biggest pet peeves with smartphones is having to worry about whether I can draw finished the whole daytime without plugging in, so I'm happy to report you can leave your battery anxiety behind.

The physical keyboard advantage

So what would stop me from using the KEY2 as my daily driver leaving forward? Unfortunately it's the small size of the test. I love huge phones–the bigger the finer. When I turned the scaling downbound to its smallest setting and still couldn't see a cram full-sized unbent image on Instagram, my pump sank a bit.

I fully understand the trade-off Blackberry bush had to make ready to keep the KEY2 pocket-size for well-nig people, but in that respect are some blessed stupendous bezels on this headphone. I may suffer moved on to another phone, just the KEY2 stays with me in spirit. I find myself missing the keyboard. It's the only Android sound I've used this year that truly had me excited.
